So, for long years, I’ve had this sci-fi story which is the absolute best thing that has ever gone through my head. I wrote it a first time in French long ago, but it had many flaws that could be palliated, and… I’m gonna palliate them, in English, for CampNaNo in June. I am so excited to start.
On top of that, I started using Yarny to take pre-notes about the world in which my characters evolve. I haven’t re-read the original so that I wouldn’t be tempted to keep things that don’t need to be kept just because it was there at first. I’m working from memory and adding a lot of (more realistic) details, and so far the right-side snippets on Yarny, divided into “characters”, “places” and “things” have been extremely useful. Now, I’ve gone through most of my pre-writing work (the only thing I have left is the actual organization of the mafia, with more names and all (I have its history already and how it came to be)). The timing was perfect for me to be ready to start exactly on June 1st!

In the 1970′s, actress and model Tippi Hedren (mother of actress Melanie Griffith) created the Shambala Preserve after producing the film Roar. The preserve rescued exotic big cats living in captivity that had been abused or were in need of help, one of which the family created a close bond with. Neil the lion lived with the family in their home, and played an active role in the day to day activities of the preserve.
